ASWB EXAMINATION ADMINISTRATION TRANSITION

ASWB will be transitioning from Pearson VUE to PSI.  ASWB is communicating with exam candidates about what they can expect in the next few months. We want to keep you informed, as well.

A limited number of current candidates have exams already scheduled with Pearson VUE between December 16 and June 30, 2024. Because Pearson VUE will not be administering ASWB exams after December 15, we will contact those candidates next week with information on rescheduling their exams. Please see the message we are sharing below.

We will work with candidates to test within their board approval as much as possible, and Pearson VUE has opened up additional testing capacity between now and December 15. 

If you receive questions from candidates about scheduling, please direct them to ASWB's Candidate Services Center: 888.579.3926. Our staff can help candidates determine what options are available based on the transition timeline.

Notice to candidates who need to reschedule:

You are receiving this communication because you have an ASWB social work licensing examination appointment scheduled on or after December 16, 2023. In support of ASWB’s upcoming partnership with PSI, Pearson VUE will discontinue exam delivery effective December 16, 2023. All ASWB social work licensing examinations will be administered by PSI effective January 2, 2024. Below, please see the steps you will need to take as well as a timeline of the examination vendor transition.

Next steps: 

  • You will need to reschedule your existing exam appointment by September 24, 2023, or it will automatically be canceled.
  • If you would like to take your examination at a Pearson VUE test center, you will need to reschedule your existing exam appointment to a date before December 16. 
  • Follow the instructions in your Authorization to Test email to cancel or reschedule your examination appointment. 
  • Candidates who do not test with Pearson VUE before December 16 may schedule an appointment with PSI beginning January 2, 2024. Registered candidates will receive additional scheduling information from ASWB.

Transition timeline:

September 24, 2023 | Deadline for rescheduling testing appointments that are currently scheduled with Pearson VUE for December 16 or later.

December 15, 2023 | Last day to test with Pearson VUE

December 16, 2023 – January 1, 2024 | Testing not available during vendor transition

January 2, 2024 | Scheduling and testing begin with PSI
